Characters
Ishtar
The Ishtari are traditionally humble, forgiving, and patient. Coming from a long-standing culture of peaceful pastoralism and nomadic wandering, they were uprooted out of their idyllic lives in the far-reaching System War. Turned into cannon fodder, slaves to alien industrial complexes and cogs of war, their peaceful disposition has turned into one of helplessness and pessimism. Though, with the General Office of Restoration's establishment, the Ishtari have begun to hope- bit by bit, Ishtar is healed by everyone's collective efforts. Not all Ishtari are quick to forgive the Core Planets for their defiling of planet & culture, however, and act against them both openly and quietly.
An Ishtari Character
Indistinguishable from a Human, though typically of darker complexion thanks to their proximity to their star in the System. Characterized by their humble, inoffensive personalities. Casual worship of an otiose deity known as Qahrmancia is somewhat prevalent on Ishtar.
Ysldara
The Ysldarans embody progress. Having been the first to discover and subsequently trade off engines capable of reliable interplanetary travel, they hold liberal beliefs to a particularly high regard. After the System War, they were the ones to push forward the idea of humanitarian support for Ishtar as a form of reparations to the half-destroyed planet. Their home planet of Ysldara is beautiful, flowing with technological marvels- the idea of scarcity is so foreign to its inhabitants that it almost becomes indignant. Morally righteous, they are hellbent on expanding their rigid outlook on the universe to their solar neighbors.
A Ysldaran Character
Humanoid; tall, thin and gaunt. Sharp facial features and milky, pale blue skin let you know you are dealing with a Ysldaran. Characterized by their fatalistic, no-nonsense behavior- to them, life is a series of curious practical happenstances. Occasionally regarded as apathetic psychopaths.
Arukh
The Arukhans are cold, fanatical and with a streak of savagery. Coming from a brutal ultracapitalist society, children are taught from a young age to trample on others for their own benefit. On their home planet, Arukh, it would not be bad advice- teeming with billions of potential adversaries, an honest , naïve competitor would be quietly murdered and thrown to the side as soon as they welcome anyone into their embrace. Almost poignantly, the planet is also uninhabitable for Ysldarans and Ishtari because of its unusually nitrogen-rich atmosphere. Rarely seen in person, those on Ishtar are usually carrying thick life support equipment to allow them to live.
An Arukhan Character
Humanoid; stocky, broad-shouldered and somewhat hairy. The most alien amongst the three sapient races of the System, their bizarre facial anatomy and four fingered hands contributing to this reputation. Characterized by their needless antagonism, egomania and fiery wills. Most have never seen an Arukhan with their lifemasks off.
Miscellaneous
As of writing, there are no other sapient species in the System. Usable interstellar travel is still an impossibility, though theorized to be revolutionized soon- so there is no telling what lies beyond the System.
Sol, Earth and Humanity exist in this setting - but are very far from the events of the story of Kamadeva. Try not to make mention of them, it, or anything Earth-centric.
