The aim of Kamadeva is to cultivate and maintain a mature roleplaying experience that utilizes elements of improvisational gameplay and collaborative storytelling, so that we may all have fun playing this niche BYOND game. Those who do not respect that may find themselves penalized or removed from the game, so as to avoid that - this page has been created. Please link this to a new player that you know!

Rules?

All that is asked of players is to respect the atmosphere of Kamadeva: 905 and to not play maliciously, or in bad faith. This is up to a great level of interpretation, so it's important to clarify a few things before moving forward.

Killing Indiscriminately

Your character most likely values their own life, and has a psychological aversion to ending the lives of others - alien or otherwise. Killing people en masse for no or an inconsequential reason is grounds for removal. We do not ask that you adhere to "escalation", or inform the moderators before you decide to end someone's life in-game; it is assumed you are a rational and empathetic player and know when it is reasonable, for your character, to take the life of another.

Low Effort Gameplay

Earth and its denizens are thousands of light years from the System. The idea of a human is totally unknown to anyone within the System, as it is an unimagined concept. Low brow references to real life memes, cultures or figures is considered in extremely bad taste and will not be permitted. However, as this is a game made and played by humans, it is only expected that our human preferences and biases will seep into the game; attacking players for happening to use a name also used on Earth (e.g Meryl, David, Ahmed), common phrases (e.g "Jesus Christ...", "A dime a dozen", "Apples and oranges"), or anything of this nature is inappropriate behavior and will be punished. We're only human.

Erotica

Kamadeva: 905, in part, was designed with erotic interactions in mind. Unnecessarily curtailing a player's ability to access this part of the game is seen as an offense and warrants penalization; however, there are some important distinctions to make - having sex or indulging in lewd behavior is not a shield to hide behind. Do not expect protection from administration if you are having public intercourse, are a wanted criminal, or engaging in acts of questionable consent.

The Non-Consensual Problem

Both parties must consent OOC. If a player does not consent, and the action is perpetrated regardless (through any conduit), it is grounds for an immediate ban.

Persecution

As stated before, Kamadeva: 905 was partially intended for lewd encounters. Persecution of players, IC or OOC, who decide to indulge in this is completely impermissible and will be met with strict punishment. If you don't like sex, there are many other servers for you. This one is for us.

Discriminatory Practices

We have a 0 tolerance policy for bigotry. Racists, homophobes, transphobes, etcetera. This is not up for any discussion whatsoever.

Expectations

Players are expected to roleplay believable characters and consider the fun of others before all else. We find it's best not to think, "what would make a good story?", while playing- if a round is given several interesting characters with conflicting beliefs, then the tense situations that come from them will inevitably result in a good story to be enjoyed retrospectively.
